Please note that nominations will close at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 8th.
On December 11th, we will be hosting our Biennial Caucus and annual Christmas Party with our partners from the Concord Republican City Committee. The only order of business will be the election of the 2025-2026 Merrimack County Republican Committee (MCRC) and Concord Republican City Committee. Officer elections for the MCRC will be held at the January 2025 meeting. Below is a link to submit your nomination. I am asking for a bit more information this cycle so that our Delegates and Nominees can make an informed decision about who is best able to help us win in 2026. The nomination information will be published on our website without the emails or phone numbers. If you wish to nominate someone else, please email me at smaltzie@comcast.net and I will contact them, notify them of your nomination, and ask them to complete the form if they are interested. Please do not complete it for them.
Regarding Membership, our bylaws state the following:
B. Membership:
1) The MCRC shall consist of the number of members apportioned to it by the NHRSC. MCRC members shall be elected for a two-year term by the Merrimack County Republican Party Nominees and Delegates to the State Convention, as provided in the NHRSC bylaws, and shall take office at the January meeting following the fall elections or as soon thereafter as is reasonably practicable. Any registered Republican who resides in Merrimack County but not in the City of Concord is eligible to become a member.
2) Members are expected to fully participate in MCRC’s affairs, to help recruit and elect Republican candidates, and to promote the general welfare of the Republican Party. This would include attendance at meetings, actively assisting in the campaigns of MCRC members, participating in one or more subcommittees, and assisting in organizing and participating in MCRC events.
3) Any registered Republican who resides in Merrimack County is eligible to become an associate member. Associate members shall be entitled to participate in discussion and debate and shall have the right to vote on the regular business of the MCRC. Associate members are not eligible to vote on the election of MCRC officers, the filling of vacancies for MCRC members, the election of associate members or amendments to these Bylaws. Pursuant to the NHRSC bylaws, associate members shall not be voting members of the NHRSC and shall not be entitled to vote on official NHRSC business. To serve effectively on the county committee requires a sincere commitment of both time and energy. While this volunteer role is deeply rewarding, potential nominees should carefully consider whether they can dedicate the necessary hours to fulfill their responsibilities before putting their names forward.
To build on the language in our bylaws, active committee members are expected attend monthly meetings (~2 hours each), participate in at least one subcommittee, help with voter outreach and engagement, assist with candidate campaigns during election seasons, and contribute to fundraising efforts. Members may also be asked to help staff polling locations, organize community events, participate in local Old Home Day parades and booths, distribute campaign materials, make phone calls to constituents, and attend relevant training sessions. Remember, that this is a county-wide position so your duties will span the entire county. I will be talking more about Town Committees in a future email. The major duties of the State Committee members in that role are to elect State Party Leadership and approve bylaw amendments.
If you are unwilling or unable to make this commitment, please consider becoming an Associate Member instead. Associate members have most of the same rights and privileges as full members, but with less obligation and time commitment. Associate members are not State Committee members and do not vote on State issues, for officers of the committee, or for new Associate Members. However, Associate members are critically important to the success of this committee! If you are interested in becoming an associate member, please contact me at smaltzie@comcast.net.
